Mozambique

I haven't actually lived in Mozambique, but I stayed there for approximately a month during Christmas and New Years Eve 1998-1999. A very different holiday to what I have ever experienced, filled with different kinds of adventures that I will surely never forget! This picture of me and my sister is taken from a swimming pool in a hotel from the capital Maputo, as the beaches in the capital were not as clean. Although, we went to a town called Xai-Xai with absolutely fantastic beaches filled with corals and coral reefs.

This picture, of my sister and my mother, is taken from a 'fresh-juice' bar in Maputo where we went everyday after the swimming pool for a few fruit juices produced from very fresh and delicious fruits. There were a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially the kinds that you can't get in Europe, and they all were very sweet and fresh.

Xai-Xai is a town about 250km north from Maputo with beautiful beaches that extended for kilometers. The further north you go the nicer the beaches are, and with Mozambique having the second largest coral reef in the world after the 'Great Barrier Reef' it was really beautiful to dive and see all the beautiful colors that the reefs had to offer. Oh, I have always liked to build sand-castles!?...
